On August 12, 2022, Anna Marie Rizzo Raman, loving mother of four children, passed away at the age of 91 (dob 5/18/1931).

Anna Marie, Miss Anne, Annie, Mom, the Momma, Boo Boo, Grandmom, even Anna Banana. She answered to them all and embraced the role associated with each name.

Anna was dedicated to her family. She raised four teen and pre-teen children alone after Harvey, her husband of 17 years, passed away suddenly in 1973. She was a grade school teacher in the fifties before she married and then again after the death of Harvey. Anna earned her bachelor’s degree from Chestnut Hill College at the age of 50. She retired after 26 years of teaching third graders, who often remembered her in adulthood when seeing her at the supermarket or on the street.

Jean Marie “Merrie” Montgomery, age 61, of Philadelphia, and formerly of the Oxford Circle and Frankford sections of Philadelphia, died on August 9, 2022.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of James Montgomery and Trudy Mulhern Montgomery.

She graduated from Frankford High School in 1978 and later attended Gordon Phillips Beauty School.

Merrie was employed as an Accountant Secretary for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 15 years, as well as a hairdresser.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed making jewelry and doing arts and crafts but, most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Suddenly on August 4,2022 at the age of 78. Loving daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Arthur.

Dear sister of Miriam English (late Howard T.) and the late Thomas Arthur (Marguerite). Joan will be dearly missed by her loving friend of Bob Patrick. Also survived by 4 nephews and 1 niece and many friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joan's visitaion Wednesday, August 17,2022 from 9:00A.M.-10:00A.M. at Resurrection of Our Lord Church 2000 Shelmire Ave Phila, PA 19152. Followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00A.M. Interment Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.

Chrichnard Oliver Prosper, age 20, a resident of Philadelphia, PA died tragically on July 4, 2022.

Born in Les Cayes, Haiti, Oliver was the beloved son of Jean Geffard Prosper and Marie Dieu, brother of Ann Flory Prosper and step-son of Marie Florence Laurent and Victoria Mornay.

He is also survived by his grandparents: Louinor Prosper and Viliane Prosper and Christiane Dieu; by his uncles: Phaniel Dieu, Yvenel Prosper, Garhens Prosper, Levelt Prosper, Louidor Prosper and David Prosper; by his aunts: Phanette Dieu, Phaniele Dieu and Molly Aurelien; and by his dear friend, Yves Mombrun.

Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 PM on Saturday, August 13, 2022, John F. Fluehr & Sons, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, where relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be private.

Gabriel Anibal Hernandez, age 21, a Philadelphia resident for over 18 years, died tragically on July 29, 2022.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, Gabriel was the beloved son of Anibal Cruz Rodriguez and Marta Joan Hernandez. He attended Northeast High School and was most recently employed as a fork lift operator at L and M Warehouse.

During his leisure time, Gabriel enjoyed playing video games, fishing with his brothers, riding bikes, and always being a helping hand to his father and family. His greatest joy was spending time with his son, who he loved so dearly. Gabriel was a caring and loving young man.

Anthony Gaetano Devine, Sr., age 47, died suddenly on July 20, 2022. He was a resident of the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia for the past 20 years and formerly of the Olney Section of Philadelphia. He was the beloved husband of Rose M. Lutz Devine for 20 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Anthony was the son of the late Gaetano J. Devine and Donna Fauzer. He attended St. Helena Grade School and graduated from Northeast Preparatory School in 1991. Professionally, Anthony was a certified welder with Local Union 420 Steamfitters for the past 25 years.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and working on cars. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and teaching his children how to weld.

On the evening of July 20, 2022, Jean D. Nastasi, age 78, peacefully passed away at her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The beloved Jean is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Maria and Darren Cornwell; grandchildren, Kayla and Joseph Gidzinski. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Nastasi.

Jean was a kind, hardworking, and soft-spoken woman who enjoyed the little things in life. Whether it be gardening or having an interest in all things butterfly. One of her favorite pastimes was taking trips to the casino with her husband, Frank, and longtime best friend, Rose Green, aka Cookie. She was also an avid lover of cross-stitching, solving puzzles, and taking on many other creative projects in her spare time. Not to mention, she was a lover of animals, especially cats. Jean always made sure her cats were well taken care of and treated like royalty. She, too, adored the music of the incredible Elvis Presley and had a sweet tooth like no other.

Mary Elizabeth Mitchell, age 65, a life-time resident of Philadelphia, died on July 16, 2022. She was the beloved wife of John Harvey Mitchell for 47 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles John Hilton and the late Anna T. Reilly Hilton. Mary graduated from Little Flower High School in 1975.

Mary was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She retired as receptionist for Pediatric Dental Associates, where she worked for 17 years.

Dear Bubbie of Madelyn Bauer, Kenlie, Stosh and Graham Oczkowski, Nora, Lucy and Henry Gallagher. Dear sister of Carl Hiller (Eileen) and Mark Hiller (Regina). Also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and countless sister of the Little Flower Community.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Susan's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday July 22, at 10am located at Maternity BVM Catholic Church 9220 Old Bustleton Ave Phila. PA. 19115. Where a visitation will be held from 9-10am. Interment private. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan's name to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls

Maria Van Bebber (nee Altmiks) On July 12th, 2022, at the age of 102.

Survived by her nephew Glenn Paffen. Dear daughter of the late Meinolf Altmiks and Cecilia Elle. Loving wife of the late Theodore Van Bebber. Also predeceased by her four siblings.
