Richard P. Campbell on February 28th, 2019 lost his long battle with cancer, ending a warm and wonderful life here on earth and starting a new adventure with The Lord.

Richard was born in Abington, Pennsylvania on June 10th, 1954 to mother Inez Campbell (née Welsh) and father Ronald Campbell.

Richard grew up in Rittenhouse Square and always had warm and happy memories of walking his neighbor’s dog Vodka, playing with his best friend Mitzy, and as he grew older, driving his performance sports cars.

Richard attended LaSalle College High School and graduated from La Salle University in 1975 with a BS in Political Science. With a passion for political science and an uncle who taught him the political ropes, Richard upon graduating began working on Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign. Having worked as an intern for Reagan when he was Governor of California, Richard was excited to help Governor Reagan win the 1980 presidential election, acting as lead campaign coordinator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. During President Reagan's term in office, Richard held various positions within the administration, including Deputy National Security Advisor. He traveled regularly with the President and First Lady. After the White House, Richard held various positions in government contracting, high tech sales, and fundraising for charitable institutions.

In 1993, Richard met the love of his life, Dawn Grzyb. They were married in 1994 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in a wonderful ceremony. The reception at Burt and Jack’s was highlighted by a Captain’s invitation to tour a nuclear submarine that was parked next to the restaurant…. quite a feat in a wedding dress! From 1994 until the end, Richard and Dawn lived a wonderful life full of adventure and great times with family, friends and two wonderful dogs. And let us not forget the seven boats along the way! Richard had a great wit, loved his politics and was filled with interesting, often wild, stories of his time in the Regan White House.

Richard leaves behind his wife Dawn, brother-in-law Joseph Grzyb, sister-in-law Julie Grzyb, nephews J.J. and Justin Grzyb and beautiful niece Jessica Grzyb.

Richard's service will be held on Saturday March 9th, 10:00am at Saint Bernard's Catholic Church, 7341 Cottage Street, Philadelphia, PA.
Burial will be directly after the ceremony at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
