Born in Wolverton, England, she was the oldest of 8 children of the late Joseph and Dora Lovesey. She was a member of the British Women's Land Army during WW11. She met Domenic Cifelli, who was stationed nearby and they were married in her hometown. She joined him in South Philadelphia when the war ended and they later moved to Holmesburg. She became a U.S. citizen August 13, 1958. She was a long time employee at Stone Container Corporation.
She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Domenic, and daughter Linda Michalak. Loving mother of Richard (Linda) and Stephen. Devoted " Nan" to her 5 grandchildren,Timothy (Vicki), Keith (Heather), Katie, Stephen, Travis and 8 great grandchildren , many nieces , nephews , great nieces and great nephews . Surviving sisters in England are Peg Fisher, Ann Kemberly and Sue Nicholls. Also survived by brother- in- law, Frank Cifelli .
Gladys loved knitting and ceramics and enjoyed making gifts for family and friends . She also belonged to a women's church group and made beautiful quilts . Britons love to garden and she was no exception . She loved to show her sisters and brother Longwood Gardens when they came to visit along with trips to Lancaster, Atlantic City and the casinos .
A Memorial Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at 2 P.M. at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020.
