Patricia A. Heron

Patricia Ann Heron, 82, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, peacefully with her family by her side. Pattie was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Olney and the Burholme section of Philadelphia. As a wife and mother, she lived in Holmesburg and the Millbrook section of Northeast Philadelphia. For the last three years, Pattie resided at Wesley Senior Living in Doylestown, PA.

Mrs. Heron was preceded in death by her loving husband Francis X. Heron, mother Anna Lloyd (Slewicki) and father Robert Lloyd. She leaves behind her daughter Patricia Ann Ott, son-in-law Jonathan Ott, her son Francis Robert, and her grandchildren: Christopher, Micaela, Brianna, Caitlynn, and Zakkery.

In her younger years, Pattie attended Abraham Lincoln High School where she excelled at running track. Also during her high school years, she modeled for Barbizon Modeling. With her husband Frank and daughter Patty, Pattie would be found bowling in several different bowling leagues in Northeast Philadelphia. When her son was playing soccer, she traveled to many out of state soccer games. Initially, Pattie was a stay at home mom taking care of her two children, but eventually she wanted to work outside of the home. She found employment with her local Thrift Drug store. Thrift Drug would later by owned by J.C. Penney, and Pattie would become the J.C. Penney catalog supervisor at Thrift Drug, until she retired.

Pattie enjoyed being with family, especially her grandchildren through the years. There were sports games and dance recitals, BBQ’s, swimming, and family gatherings. With Franny and two granddaughters living in Florida, Pattie and her husband would travel to be with them. For many years, she was a boating enthusiast along with her husband, spending many summer days along the Delaware River on their boat named “Funny Face”. She loved traveling with her life-long friend Shirley Winthrop. They went to Cancun, and could be found chatting over coffee at Shirley’s backyard pool. Pattie also delighting in creating and painting ceramics with family and friends.

Pattie had a real love for animals, a Standard Poodle named Pepie, two Old English Sheep dogs, Benji and Bear, and a Maine Coon cat named Peaches, and when her husband was a Philadelphia K-9 Police Officer, Spike, a German Shepard, would come to their home for short visits. In her last few years while at Wesley, Pattie loved the visits of her grand-dog Gracie, an Australian Shepard, where the dog showered her with kisses.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Our Lady of Calvary 11024 Knights Rd., Phila, PA 19154 from 9-945am. A funeral mass will follow at 10am; Rite of Committal at Lawnview Cemetery.
