Elaine B. Ignarski (nee Betz), 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 8, 2021

Elaine B. Ignarski was the beloved wife of Mitchell C. Ignarski for 59 years.  Loving mother to Mitchell K., Matthew J. (Jenny), Karen White (Christopher).  Devoted Grandmother: Gabrielle, Jonathan and Kiersten.  Elaine is also survived by her eldest, loving sister, Doris, and many nieces and nephews.

Elaine was a graduate of Little Flower High School, Class of 1956 (1000 W Lycoming St, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19140)

Knowing the value of an education, she instilled the desire of a college education in all of her children.  Through her persistent guidance and financial support, all of them became college graduates.  She also began attending university level classes when her children began their own Collegiate Careers.

Retiring from the City of Philadelphia in 1999 after 21 years of service.  Elaine worked as an Administrative Assistant in the City Department of Recreation (Veterans Stadium).  Prior to working in the stadium, she worked in the Department of Internal Affairs.

Elaine and her husband Mitchell traveled extensively, throughout the world during their retirement.  Dreaming of travel while growing up in Philadelphia, Elaine became passionate about seeing the world.  She loved world history and would read-up on the history of each destination as she planned the trip.   She would begin planning a new adventure as soon as she could, after returning home from one of their exotic destinations.

Elaine was most passionate about spending time with her family and friends.  She also loved being at the seashore with her family and often met with various friends for lunch.  As a strong woman of faith, who loved spending time with Jesus, she made every effort to attend daily Mass (Saint Matthews Parish -Cottman Ave) and never stopped praying for her family and friends.  She had a big heart and kind soul and will be missed.

Her mass of Christian Burial and Internment at Holy Sepulcher will be held at a later date.
