Gabriel Anibal Hernandez, age 21, a Philadelphia resident for over 18 years, died tragically on July 29, 2022.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, Gabriel was the beloved son of Anibal Cruz Rodriguez and Marta Joan Hernandez. He attended Northeast High School and was most recently employed as a fork lift operator at L and M Warehouse.

During his leisure time, Gabriel enjoyed playing video games, fishing with his brothers, riding bikes, and always being a helping hand to his father and family. His greatest joy was spending time with his son, who he loved so dearly. Gabriel was a caring and loving young man.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Gabriel Ambimelec Hernandez, Jr. “Papito”, his siblings, Cynthia N. Cruz, Vanessa L. Schonewolf, Anibal A. Cruz, Stephanie M. Cruz, Luis A. Cruz, Jose A. Hernandez, Amalia Torres, Leoner A. Hernandez, Daniel A. Hernandez, and Milton G. Hernandez, and his girlfriend, Xiomarys Colon.

Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Friday, August 5, 2022, John F. Fluehr & Sons, Inc., 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA, where friends will be received from 10:30 – 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in Puerto Rico.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to establish an educational fund for Gabriel, Jr. will be greatly appreciated. Contributions will be accepted by Vanessa Schonewolf
