Anne Marie Johnson (nee Godfrey), aged 65, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023 after a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. Anne is preceded in death by her husband Raymond, her father Thomas Sr., her brother Thomas Jr., and many beloved pets.
Anne is survived by her mother, Mary Godfrey, her children Gregory (Sarah) and Julianne (Matthew), sisters Donna, Kathleen (Francis), and Pat Pat (James), brothers William (Anna) and Stephen (Eileen), sister-in-law Elaine (Michael), brother-in-law Myles, her furbaby Scooter, nieces and nephews, and many true, lifelong friends.
Anne was born and raised in Northeast Philadelphia where she attended St. Matthew’s School and St. Hubert’s Catholic High School for Girls. After high school, Anne worked at Schaaf’s Market before moving onto Wynne Bolt & Screw Co. where she met some of her lifelong friends. Anne then accepted a position at Philadelphia Telco Credit Union, before moving onto the mortgage industry, and then eventually to title insurance, a field she worked in for over 40 years.
Anne was a diehard Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies and Flyers fan. She loved reading, TV & movies, the beach, and any chance she got to spend time with family and friends. Anne was an animal lover and adored all of the pets adopted into the family over the years, especially her dog Molly, who will meet her at the Rainbow Bridge.
Anne truly loved life and was always smiling. She stayed positive and strong in the face of cancer and fought hard until the very end. Anne will be terribly missed but her memory carries on in the lives of those who loved her dearly.
