Donna Marie McGee

Donna Marie McGee

Donna (nee Keiter) passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday June 16, 2024 at the age of 59 after a hard battle with cancer. Donna was the beloved daughter of Marie (nee Falcone) and the late Donald Keiter, Sr. She was the devoted wife of John “Jay” McGee for 34 years; cherished mother of Jade, Jenna, and Trevor McGee; adoring sister of Donald Keiter Jr., and Debbie Cifelli. Donna will be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Donna was born and raised in the Morrell Park section of Northeast Philadelphia where she met her childhood sweetheart Jay. Jay and Donna met in kindergarten and lived right around the corner from each other growing up. They began dating when they were 11 years old and have been together ever since. The two did everything together, built a wonderful life and raised three beautiful children.

Donna worked hard her whole life. She always had a job and believed in earning everything she had. She worked in shipping and receiving for years at various companies but especially enjoyed her job at Heraeus Electro-nite, where she worked closely with her father Donald Keiter Sr.

She later went on to work in materials management at St. Mary’s Medical Center where she met some amazing people who turned into amazing friends. Donna truly loved her time at St. Mary’s and worked there up until her passing.

Donna loved going camping and would spend her summers at her RV in Lancaster. Fridays consisted of getting home from work, grabbing some McDonalds and flying down the turnpike in order to make it to Friday night bingo at the camper. She loved getting a large ice cream cone and cruising around the campground on her golf cart, visiting all of her Lake-in-Woods family. A weekend of camping wasn’t complete until there was a trip to Shady Maple to pick up Amish donuts and any other sweet treats Donna could get her hands on. There was always enough food to feed an army of 40 at the camper, just in case any friends or family members stopped in for a visit. The McGee family had many laughs and millions of lasting memories in that campground.

Although there was a 98% chance that Donna would forget to water any flowers she was gifted, she loved receiving them and always found them very beautiful. She was kind, loving, and brought so much joy to everyone she met. She was always able to make everyone in the room laugh and always kept it real with her colorful language and creative catch phrases. It was hard to be in a bad mood for too long around Donna, she just had a way of making everything better.

Above all things Donna was an amazing wife and mother. She did absolutely everything and anything for her children. They were her entire world and greatest joy. Spending time with her family and making memories was her absolute favorite past time. It didn’t matter where we were or what we were doing, as long as she was spending time with her husband and her babies, she was happy. She will be missed dearly by all.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Donna’s family on Tuesday, June 25th from 9:30-11:15am at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5340 Hulmeville Road Bensalem, PA where her funeral mass will immediately follow at 11:30am. Interment private.
