Amy E. Rodriguez

Amy Rodriguez, 24, resident of Mayfair passed away on Friday July 9, 2021.

Amy was the beloved daughter of Seneida (nee Taveras) and Rafael Rodriguez; sister of Cynthia Duran-Rodriguez and Odanis Rodriguez. She also leaves behind her boyfriend, Sean Noble. Amy is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends, who will all miss her dearly.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend her viewing on Thursday July 15, 2021 at John F. Fluehr & Sons 3301 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19149 from 9-11am. A service will begin following the visitation at 11am; interment will take place at William Penn Cemetery.

Francis "Pat" Stapleton

Francis “Pat” Stapleton, 85, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Friday July 2, 2021.

Francis was the beloved husband of Marie (nee Lobello) for over 50 years. Born in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia on May 19, 1936; Francis would proudly serve his country in the United States Army for two years. He was the loving father of Lisa Stapleton (John), Thomas Stapleton (Jodi), Jeanie Stapleton (Tom), Patricia Stapleton, and Steven Stapleton (Tania). Loving grandfather of nine and great grandfather of one.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at John F. Fluehr & Sons Funeral Home 3301 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19149 from 10-11am. A service will begin at 11am; interment will be held privately by the family on a later date.

Christina Coyne-Torres

Christina Coyne-Torres,57, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2021.

Born on November 7, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pa, daughter of Arthur J and the (late) Christine Coyne (nee Bartholomew). Christina worked for the US Post Office and Godiva Chocolate for many years. She loved traveling, the shore, and movies.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Victor Torres, nephew Arthur (AJ) Coyne and niece Samantha Leatherbarrow, special cousins, Debbie Mardt (Al), Wayne Ulrich (Terry), and Nick Ulrich (Jackie) and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur P Coyne (Butch). Services for Christina will be held at a later date.

Cornelius Spontak

Cornelius Spontak, 94, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, June 28, 2021.

Cornelius was the beloved husband of Carol (nee Chrestay) for 68 years. Loving father and grandfather to daughter Lorraine Bednarek (Martin) and her children Carrie Bednarek, Colleen Bednarek-Kurtz (Eric), and Christa Bednarek; and daughter Cheryl Williams and her children Shannon Williams, Richard Jasek, and Nathan Long. Cornelius was also the great-grandfather of  Rory and Freya Williams; Richard, Robbie, Riley, Aiden, Gianni, Raelyn, Alivia, and Izabella Jasek; and Nathan Long.  “Uncle Cornie” will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Jacqueline D. Zenszer

Jacqueline D. Zenszer (nee McCall), 74, passed away on Sunday June 27, 2021.

Jacqueline was the beloved wife of her husband, Frank Zenszer, for 53 years. Loving mother to her daughters Elizabeth Medina (Israel) and Linda Macrea (Mark); grandmother to (late) Samantha Zenszer; Gabriel and Ryan Macrea. She was predeceased by her mother Violet McCall.

James J. & Marie E. Smart

James J Smart, Sr. and Marie E Smart (nee O’Donnell)

James passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 at the age of 93.  Marie passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at the age of 87.  Devoted parents of James J Jr. (Maryanne), William J (Stacey), Maureen E Crosby (James), Rita M. Marinari (Dominic) and Carol A Schwab (Ryan).  Proud grandparents of 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Brother-in-law and Sister of Dolores Hampson, Catherine Ramirez (Jimie) and William O’Donnell (Betty Anne).  Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.  Married for 63 years and separated only by death for 23 days.

James L. Simpson

James L. Simpson, 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021 with his family by his side.

James was a lifelong resident of Mayfair, member of Saint Bernard Parish, and graduated from North Catholic Highschool. During the Korean War, he served in the United States Navy, and was proud of his time spent on active duty and many years in the Navy reserves.

Meredith Albertson

Meredith Albertson (Nee Chandlee), 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 4, 2021 at Dock Terrace in Lansdale, PA.

Merrie, a Philadelphia native, was a devoted wife to John F. Albertson, Jr. even after his untimely passing in 1978. She was the loving mother of John F. Albertson, III (Judie); proud grandmother of Martin Regan, Bridget, Nora, and Grace Albertson. In her younger years Merrie was a singer and performer at historic venues such as the Steel Pier and the 500 Club in Atlantic City. She later became a cosmetologist and retired a skilled laborer at National Fiberstock Corporation. In her retirement she tutored students in art and performed in the church choir and the Dock Woods choir.

Patricia A. Heron

Patricia Ann Heron, 82, a beloved mother and grandmother, passed away Tuesday, June 1st, 2021, peacefully with her family by her side. Pattie was born in Philadelphia, grew up in Olney and the Burholme section of Philadelphia. As a wife and mother, she lived in Holmesburg and the Millbrook section of Northeast Philadelphia. For the last three years, Pattie resided at Wesley Senior Living in Doylestown, PA.

Mrs. Heron was preceded in death by her loving husband Francis X. Heron, mother Anna Lloyd (Slewicki) and father Robert Lloyd. She leaves behind her daughter Patricia Ann Ott, son-in-law Jonathan Ott, her son Francis Robert, and her grandchildren: Christopher, Micaela, Brianna, Caitlynn, and Zakkery.

Michelle M. Adams

Michelle Marion Adams (nee Brandes) - October 23, 1972 to May 29, 2021 - passed away after a long, valiant battle with colon cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Adams and her sons, Tyler (Magena, his wife) and Jack Adams. She was the daughter of Emil Brandes Sr. (deceased) and Marion Parkinson and her wife, Peg Szczurek. Her parents-in-law are Bruce and Jane Adams. Michelle was a beloved sister to Emil (Skip) and Stacey Brandes, Philip and Christine (nee Adams) Brandes, Jesse White, Stephanie White and Peter Luttrell. Also: sister-in-law to Joseph and Danielle Adams, Kate and Brian Rightley, Mary and Rich Culver. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Michelle had an army of friends who will miss her terribly.
