Dominic S. Samarco, Jr.

Dominic S. Samarco Jr., 79, passed away with his family by his side on Friday December 24, 2021.

Dominic was the beloved husband of Deania Samarco (nee Durrwachter) for 61 years. Loving father of Deania, Dominic III (Debbie), Carmela Baker (David), Ricky (Denise Gilbert), Tony (Kim), and Tracy Samarco. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 5 siblings and many extended family members and friends.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend his viewing on Friday December 31, 2021 at John F. Fluehr & Sons 3301 Cottman Ave, Phila, PA 19149 from 9:30-10:30am. A funeral service will take place following the viewing starting at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Westminster Cemetery, Bala-Cynwad PA.

Fee, Rita M. - Age 90 of Saint Joseph Villa daughter of the late Rita (Fitzgerald) and John J. Fee 53 year employee of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Formerly of Our Mother of Sorrows and Saint Martin of Tours parishes Sister of the late Catharine Fee, SSJ and Mary M. Fee, SSJ Survived by her sister, Fran Hayburn (Jim); 2 nieces (Theresa Hayburn, SSJ), 4 nephews, 4 grandnieces and 7 grandnephews. Rita was the recipient of the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice medal in 1985 from Pope John Paul II

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Joseph Villa on Thursday, December

Tare Shehu

Tare Shehu, 41, passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Tare Shehu was born in Tepelena, Albania and is survived by his parents Liri (nee Spahiu) and Hysne Shehu; father of Sebastian and Albion Shehu; brother to Aldo Shehu. He is survived by many extended family members and friends, who will all miss him dearly.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend his viewing on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at John F. Fluehr & Sons, 3301 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19149 from 10-12pm. Interment will be held privately back home in Albania.

James W. Dwyer

James W. Dwyer, 72, longtime resident of Mayfair, passed away on Wednesday December 15, 2021.

James was the beloved husband of Ruth Dwyer (nee Roth) for 39 years of marriage; loving father of Kent T. Dwyer and Brad P. Dwyer (Doris Okletey). He is also survived by his brother Gary Dwyer, neighbors, and friends who will all miss him dearly.

James will always be remembered for his ability to have deep and meaningful conversations with friends and family, his love for all sports, his early artistic and creative ideas and depictions, his passions around history and movies, and his everlasting relationships that he built with loved ones.

Marie I. Johnston

Marie I. Johnston (nee Harrison), 99, longtime resident of Mayfair, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.

Marie was the beloved wife of (late) Thomas J. Johnston Sr; devoted mother of Marie Sweeney (Joseph), Kathleen Weber (Edward), Thomas J. Jr (Kathleen), William J. (Kathleen), and Gregory Johnston (Jeanne). She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend her viewing on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at St. Bernard Church, 7341 Cottage Street, Philadelphia, PA 19136 from 9-10am. A funeral mass will begin at 10am; interment to take place at Resurrection Cemetery. Joanna Lorraine Paraczky

Joanna Lorraine Paraczky (Nee Nanni) Age 71, passed away Thursday, December 16th, 2021.

Loving Mother of Heather and Joshua. Grandmother of the late Justin. Devoted sister of Theresa Davis (the late Harry) and Nicholas Nanni (Lenore). Dear Aunt of Michael, Jason and Christopher Nanni. Also survived by many family and friends. Joanna worked as a Medical Transcriptionist for over 25 years. Patrick E. McLaughlin

Patrick E. McLaughlin, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Monday December 13, 2021 at the age of 61 after a brief battle with esophageal cancer.
He was born in Philadelphia to John and Mary McLaughlin on April 9, 1960. A graduate of Father Judge High School, Class of 1978, Patrick went on to work for 35 years as a bricklayer with the BAC Local 1 PA/DE.

Anyone who knew Pat knew how much of a family man he was. He never missed any of his kids’, and eventually grandkids’, games, activities, and life events, and almost always arrived at least 15 minutes early. He also loved cheering on Philadelphia sports teams with his brothers (and friends that were like brothers) at the Columbus Country Club.

Jim passed on December 7th, 2021. Jim was the loving husband to Micky (nee McGrody). Devoted brother of Jack and Lisa (Frank) Hughes. Dear uncle of Frankie, Andrew (Maria) and Shannon (Brendan). Son of the late Leo and Margie Thivierge. Jim is also survived by many cousins and friends. Jim was a long-time resident of Somerton and a retired United States Postal Clerk. Raymond E. Johnson

Raymond Edward Johnson,63, passed away on December 8, 2021.

Beloved husband of Anne Marie (nee Godfrey), loving father of Gregory T. and Julianne Johnson (Matthew Rosenthal). Brother of Elaine Kraft (Michael) and Myles Johnson. Preceded in death by his parents, Bernard N. and Marilynn (nee Gresley) Johnson, and older sister Norma Isner. Survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends. Raymond was a proud Philadelphia Police Officer for 23 years, serving the 7th and 8th Districts and retiring out of Northeast Detectives in 2013.

Mary M. Groome, 101, longtime resident of Mayfair, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 28, 2021.

Mary was born on August 24, 1920 to her parents Wilhelmina (nee Merkel) and Ewald Brimmer. Predeceased by her loving husband Harry V. Groome; beloved mother of Mary Lewis (late Matthew); grandmother of Brian Lewis (Sophia), Danielle Lewis (Courtney Chase), Jennifer Lewis-Wenhart (Jeff). Also survived by her great granddaughter Alana; sisters Patricia Capriotti (late Raymond) and Joan McCrossen (late Joseph) along with many nieces and nephews.
