Lena M. Stefanowski

Lena Mary Stefanowski (nee Marziale), 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday August 5, 2021.

Born on December 5, 1926 to Mary (nee Sorge) and Alfredo Marziale, Lena was the beloved mother of 7 children Thomas Blevins (Connie), (late) John Stefanowski, Elizabeth Sinclair (Brad), Dolores Schollenberger (James), (late) Robert Stefanowski (Karen), (late) Michael Stefanowski (Denise), and Chris Stefanowski (Charlene). Proud grandmother of 19 and great grandmother of many Lena was predeceased by her parents Mary (nee Sorge) and Alfredo Marziale, and all her siblings. She also leaves behind many extended family members.

Pari Murataj, 72, passed away peacefully on Monday August 2, 2021.

Francis W. Galloway

Francis W. Galloway, 83, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 1, 2021.

Francis (aka Frank) was predeceased by his wife Diane Galloway (nee Pitkow) in 1999. He was a loving father to (late) Francis Galloway (Mirella), Lisa Galloway-Rollins (Michael), and (late) Michael Galloway; loving grandfather to Michael and Salvatore Galloway; and Jake Rollins. He was much loved by his entire family including nieces Michelle Rubinson and Sharon Burke (Tom). One of his passions in life was time spent near the ocean and beach which he shared with his longtime partner Barbara Vegter in Naples Florida.

Frank was born and raised in the Frankford section and lived his entire life in Northeast Philly.   He attended Frankford High School where he was a 3 letter star in football, basketball, and baseball.  He was part of the legendary Frankford Football teams that won back to back city championships in the 1950’s.  After High School, he served in the armed forces  for a short period of time, prior to embarking on a career in the restaurant business.

Ruth M. DiCicco

Ruth M. DiCicco, age 84, of Huntingdon Valley, PA passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Hospital.  

She was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 8, 1936, the daughter of the late James J. and Marie (Walker) Marks.  

Ruth was a longtime resident of Castor Gardens before moving to Redeemer Village, where she had lived for the last five years. She was a proud graduate of Frankford High School.  She was a parishioner of the former Our Lady of Ransom Church and currently of Resurrection of Our Lord Church.  While her sons were in school, she was active in the school communities of Our Lady of Ransom School and Father Judge High School.  

Lois M. Joyce

Lois was born in Kingston, PA to Charles and Lula Mountjoy. She was one of seven children. Lois retired from Bell Telephone after 26 years. She was first hired as an Information Operator and finished her career looking for conduits on maps so that streets could be marked where the phone lines were. After retirement, she spent several years working at Boscov’s. She enjoyed the work she did for both companies and made many friends along the way.

Michael F. Emig

Michael F. Emig, 65, of Camden, DE passed away on Tuesday July 20, 2021.


Mike was the husband of Mary Ann Emig (nee McCosby) for 28 years. Father of Katie Emig of Annapolis, MD; Michelle Emig of Camden, DE; Steven Emig of Camden, DE. He is also survived by his brothers Glenn Emig (Mark Kauffman) of Arlington, VA; Jerry Emig (Kathleen) of Barnegat, NJ.


Mike was born and raised in Mayfair, and then lived in Florida and Pittsburgh before moving to Delaware. He received his bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Spring Hill College in Philadelphia and his MBA from Point Park College in Pittsburgh.

Robert A. Dinmore

Robert A. Dinmore, 46, passed away suddenly on Monday July 19, 2021.

Robert was the beloved son of Annie (nee Hollawell) and Frank Dinmore. Beloved father of Sadie; brother of Michael F. Dinmore (Carla); proud uncle of Connor and Brayden Dinmore. Robert will be greatly missed by his extended family and close friends.

Shelby Reen Nelson

Shelby Reen Nelson passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 14, 2021.

Shelby was born on October 11, 2020 to her parents Sara (Woods) and James Nelson, and from the moment she arrived was the love of their lives. James had always wanted a baby girl and his dreams were realized. From the second he laid his eyes on his perfect little lady, he was in love. Shelby had him wrapped around her perfect little beautiful finger. Sara and Shelby were inseparable. Shelby would follow Sara from room to room. She gave the best hugs and her giggle and smile would make Sara’s heart melt. Shelby’s best friend in the whole world was her pug “big brother”, Jax. She had her daddy’s blonde hair and her mommy’s eyes. Shelby was, and is, their whole world.

Helen M. Potchen Lozowski

Helen Margaret Potchen-Lozowski, 73, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 17, 2021.

Helen was the devoted wife of the late George Lozowski for 35 years. She was the beloved mother of George Lozowski; caring sister of (late) John Potchen (Catherine) and Richard Potchen (Bernadette). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, who will all miss her dearly.

Helen had a long and distinguished career with the School District of Philadelphia, serving most recently as Senior Secretary at Northeast High School.

Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial mass at Resurrection of Our Lord Church 2000 Shelmire Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19152 on Friday, July 23, 2021 starting at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to SPCA by clicking on the link below:

Mary E. Lowe (nee Anastasi), 76, passed away on Saturday July 17, 2021.

Mary was a devoted wife of the late James Lowe for over 40 years. Beloved mother of Christine Lowe; and leaves behind her siblings Charlotte Fortescue (late Charles), Anthony Anastasi, and Edward Anastasi (Janet); nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Relatives and friends are asked to attend her viewing on Friday July 23, 2021 at St. Jerome Church 8100 Colfax St., Phila, PA 19136 from 9:15-10:15. A funeral mass will begin at 10:30am; interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jerome Memorial Fund at the address listed above.
