Clovena was born in Mechanicsburg, PA on January 2, 1925, daughter to the late Frances (Trostle) Monroe Yohn and sister to the late Richard. Clovena would move to Philadelphia in 1943. In August of 1947, Clovena married Harold Klenk, who she met while in High School when they worked as Counselors at Camp Ladore, a Salvation Army Summer Camp. Together they had a full and enriching life raising ten children. Incredibly in addition to raising ten children, Clovena was a active member of her community.  She served over 45 years in the Girl Scouts mentoring countless young women and receiving recognition locally for her tenure, she also served as President of the Adaire PTA.
 

Paul Philip Grum, Jr

Paul Philip Grum, Jr., 41, lifelong resident of Bridesburg passed away suddenly on Friday January 1, 2021.

Paul enjoyed working with his hands and was always willing to help with any project. Paul was best known for his smile, jokes, and freely sharing his honest opinion. He was an avid hockey fan and roller hockey player. Paul loved having a good time at the Point bowling and relaxing on his porch with friends. He played an important part in the lives of many children, with his favorite moments being any that were spent with his children.

Paul P. Grum, Jr. was a devoted husband to his wife of 11 years, Kate Grum(neeWilliams). Paul was a proud and loving father to his 3 children Gabriella, Gavin, and Caleb Grum. He was the beloved son of Lorraine Berg(neeShiffler)(Frank) and Paul P. Grum, Sr.(Shirley). Paul is also survived by his sister Kelly Sabatino(Craig); nieces and nephews Gianna-Rose, Kiara, and Vinnie Sabatino; Ryan and Alice Williams. He leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and many lifelong friends of Bridesburg who will all miss him dearly.

Sandra Vanderslice

Sandra Vanderslice was born on June 3, 1963 to George Vanderslice and Rita (nee Gentil). As the fourth of five children, she definitely knew how to share one bathroom.

Each and every message the family received offering condolences cited (at least) one extremely kind and generous act Sandy did for him/her that she didn't have to do. She was always going above and beyond for everyone, even if it made her own day difficult. It never mattered what someone needed from her. If she made someone else smile, she smiled. For as much as she did for other people, she never asked for anything herself.

James P. Donaghy

James P. Donaghy (Jim) age 87 passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 with his family by his side.

Loving husband of Margaret Donaghy (nee McLaughlin). Beloved brother of Patrick Donaghy (Grace). Devoted father of Theresa Donaghy; James Donaghy, Jr. (Charlene); Kevin Donaghy (Margie); Brian Donaghy (Jacquie); and Gerard Donaghy (Rachel). Grandfather of Juliet Donaghy Skopek (Andrew); Brittanie Donaghy (fiancée James); Jennifer Donaghy; Brian “Rob” Donaghy; Shane Donaghy; and James H. Donaghy. Also survived by great-grandchildren Eli, Justin, and Grayson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Andrew P. Gill

Andrew P. Gill, age 92, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Loving uncle of Gerald (Deborah), Thomas, Michael (Joni) and John O'Farrell.

Jean Wydra

Jean Berdell Wydra (nee Rumbel) passed away peacefully at home on Thursday December 10, 2020 at the age of 100 yrs.

Jean was one of three children born to Reed And Inez Rumble in Ringtown, PA on July 3, 1920. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony Wydra. Jean was a devoted mother to Robert Wydra, Carol Lamplugh, Judy Pion and Barry Wydra, and loved by multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and even great great grandchildren. 

She worked as a nurse and graduated from Allentown Nursing School and also worked as a bookkeeper. In life she enjoyed getting her hair done, going to Casinos and the Racetrack . She will also be remembered by her family and friends for her quirky likes such as her love of Vicks Vapor Rub and Jimmy Rollins of the Phillies. She was also an avid reader with a love of candy, fuzzy socks and a nip of honey Whiskey.

Mary Ann Van Buskirk

Mary Ann Van Buskirk (nee Urbanski) age 68 passed away on Friday, December 18,2020.

Loving wife of the late Joseph S. Van Buskirk. Devoted mother of Amy Donohue (Ricky) and Joseph M. Van Buskirk (Samantha Corkery). Loving grandmother of Rowan, Matthew and Jay, also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Gerard R. Hesson "Jerry" age 72 passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020, with his family by his side.

Loving husband of Nancy Hesson (nee Breyer). Devoted father of Lori McCready and Stephen Hesson. Grandfather of John McCready and Gia McCready. Brother of James Hesson (Linda), Robert Hesson (JoAnn), Ann Reeser (Mark), and Frank Hesson (JoAnn). Also survived by niece Tara Witte (Courtney), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jean M. Sudell

Jean Marie (Carey) Sudell, 95, the matriarch of her family, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2020, at St. Martha Villa in Downingtown, PA.  

Jean was born in East Falls in 1925 to Leo and Sophie (Rieger) Carey.  She was followed eight years later by her beloved sister, Mary Jane Geiss, with whom she remained close throughout their entire lives.

When Jean was fourteen, she met the love of her life, William B. Sudell Jr. (Bill), who was only two days older.  Although she dated others, she told her children that as soon as she met Bill, she knew he was The One.
